Exposed Aggregrate really shows the great colors of the aggregate inside the concrete. The color of the end result depends on the colors of the aggregate you use. Because you are using smaller, smoother aggregate (pea gravel), you have to use a higher strength of concrete (usually 4500 psi.). To view the color of our pea gravel go to the aggregate page.
How does it work? The concrete is poured, floated and edged then a release agent is applied and the washing begins. This release agent will allow the top surface of the concrete to be washed away, leaving the stone exposed. When the concrete is cured it is covered with a clear sealer so the rock always has a nice wet look that really shows the natural colors of the rocks.
